Strada Performance offers premium motorcycle tuning and expert repair services in San Diego, seamlessly managing over 50 bookings monthly for peak performance.

What bikes and ECUs do you support?

Modern fuel-injected sportbikes: Ducati, BMW, Aprilia, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Honda, Triumph and KTM, including Ducati Panigale V4 and BMW S1000RR platforms. We flash OEM ECUs in-house or by mail, and build fuel and ignition maps on the dyno. If your bike is not on that list, call (619) 361-1564 with the year, make and model. If the ECU can be flashed or the fueling can be adjusted, we can almost always sort it out, and if we cannot, we will tell you straight.

Do you work on cruisers, dirt bikes and cars too?

The Sportbike division is the one taking online bookings today. Harley/Cruiser, Off Road and Car/Truck are separate divisions still being built out. If you have a project outside the sportbike world, send the details through the contact form and we will tell you honestly what we can take on right now.

Which fuel should I run?

91 octane pump gas is the California baseline, and street flashes are built around it. Race maps are built for the exact fuel in the tank: C85, MR12, E85 or race gas. Always tell us the fuel before a map is written. Running a race map on pump gas, or the wrong race fuel, can cost you an engine.

Do you only tune, or do you also fix bikes?

Both. Repairs and maintenance are a core service: oil and filter changes, brake pads, chain adjustment, spark plugs, clutch plates, cam chain tensioner, valve adjustment, diagnostics and the rest. You can book a repair on its own or add it to a tuning appointment.

How does mail-in ECU flashing work?

Order the Mail In ECU Flash (91 octane or race fuel) on the booking page and pay in full at checkout. Remove the ECU from the bike, pack it in anti-static protection, and ship it to the shop at 9053 Olive Dr, Spring Valley, CA 91977. Your confirmation email includes a tracking form: enter your carrier and tracking number there so we can watch for the package and update you when it arrives, when it is flashed, and when it ships back.

How long does a mail-in flash take?

Most mail-in flashes ship back within 48 hours of arriving at the shop. That clock starts when we receive and log your ECU in, not when you ship it, so add your carrier transit time on both ends. Closed shop days and holidays add to the timeline.

What is the handheld tuner option?

If you would rather not ship your ECU, the handheld tuner package is $900 and includes the device and return shipping. We send you the tuner with your file loaded, you flash the bike at home, and the turnaround is typically 48 hours.

Can I mail in my ECU from outside California?

Yes. Mail-in flashing is open to riders anywhere in the U.S. FedEx, UPS, USPS and DHL are all fine. Insure the package and keep the tracking number, then log it on the tracking form so the shop knows it is on the way.

Dyno tune or ECU flash, which one do I need?

A bench flash changes the map: limiters removed, fueling and ignition corrected for your exhaust and intake, quickshifter and traction control refined. It is the right first step for a mostly stock bike with bolt-ons. A dyno tune puts your actual bike on the drum for three hours, measures real air/fuel and power, and builds the map around those numbers. You need the dyno after engine work such as cams, head work, big bore or forced induction, when you switch to race fuel, or when you want documented before and after numbers. Not sure? What is the (3x) Dyno Pull session?

Three pulls on the dyno with no tuning and no adjustments, for $155. You get a real horsepower and torque number plus a chart. It is the cheapest way to find out whether your current setup is healthy before spending money on parts.

How much power will I pick up?

It depends on the bike, the fuel and the mods. Bolt-on bikes typically pick up a handful of horsepower with a flash because the factory map runs lean and restricted at the top. Race-fuel builds on the dyno gain more, especially with exhaust and intake work. We quote realistic numbers for your setup instead of promising a headline figure.

Can you flash my bike for the street?

Yes. 91-octane street maps are the default for street bikes: sharper response and cleaner fueling without making the bike difficult or unsafe to ride on pump gas. Emissions equipment is a separate question. Removing or defeating emissions components can make a street-registered bike non-compliant in California, so we tell you exactly what applies to your bike before any work starts.

Will tuning void my warranty?

Any aftermarket tuning can affect a manufacturer powertrain warranty, and we cannot represent or guarantee OEM coverage after a flash. If keeping your warranty intact matters, say so before we start and we will tell you what is safe to do. Ask us for a stock file backup before work begins.

Can you set my bike up for track use only?

Yes. Race-fuel maps, limiter removal, and quickshifter and traction control settings for closed-course competition are all available. Track-only configurations are not intended for street use, and the site asks you to acknowledge that every time you enter the Sportbike division.

Where is the shop and what are your hours?

How does booking work?

Book online: choose your service, pick a slot up to 30 days out, review and sign the work order, then pay the deposit or the full price. You get an instant confirmation with a booking number and a calendar invite. Slots reflect real shop capacity, because the dyno and the service bays are scheduled separately. Some services can run side by side and others cannot.

I need it done today. Can you fit me in?

Same-day work happens when the schedule allows. Send a same-day request and we will confirm by phone or email. If today is not possible, we give you the first realistic slot instead of leaving you guessing.

How do I reschedule or cancel?

Use the manage appointment page with your booking number and the email you booked with. Contact us at least 24 hours before your slot and we will move it at no charge. Inside 24 hours, or a no-show, the deposit is forfeited.

What should I bring to my appointment?

The bike, the key, and any parts going on it. Bring a written list of your modifications and tell us the exact fuel in the tank, because both change the tune. If the bike has a known issue, mention it so diagnostic time is built into your slot.

How long will my bike be at the shop?

ECU flashing is booked as a one-hour slot, repairs and maintenance as two hours, dyno tuning as three hours. Valve adjustment is the exception: plan on leaving the bike for at least two full business days, because the engine has to be cold for the clearance check and weekends and holidays do not count.

How is pricing calculated?

The price index shows starting prices for the most common jobs. Shop labor is $150 per hour, parts are extra, and the final quote depends on your bike and the scope of work. You approve the number before we pick up a wrench. No surprise invoices.

What is the deposit and is it refundable?

In-shop appointments require a $100 deposit that is applied in full toward your total. It is non-refundable for no-shows or cancellations inside 24 hours. If the shop cancels, it is refunded in full. Mail-in flashes and (3x) dyno pull sessions are paid in full at checkout instead.

Do you refund work that has already started?

Completed labor, setup, diagnosis and dyno time are not refundable if a session is stopped partway through, because the time and equipment were already used. If something we did is wrong, tell us and we will make it right.

Do you install parts I bought somewhere else?

Yes. Bring the parts and we install them at the hourly labor rate. We will not install anything we believe is unsafe or the wrong fit for your bike, and we will say so before you pay.

I am not in San Diego. Can I still get tuned?

Two ways. For ECU work, use the mail-in flash: you ship the ECU, we flash it and ship it back. For whole-bike work, riders ship the bike in with a motorcycle freight or crating company. Contact us first so bay time and the return shipment are planned before the bike leaves your side.

How do I track my appointment, ECU or order?

Appointments: use the manage appointment page with your booking number and email. Mail-in ECUs: use the tracking link in your confirmation email to log your inbound carrier and tracking number, and the status updates as it arrives, gets flashed and ships back. Shop orders: the order lookup page shows payment and fulfillment status with tracking once it ships.

How does shipping work for shop orders?

Merch and parts ship with the carrier shown at checkout, and your tracking number arrives with the shipping notice. Orders are processed during shop hours, Monday through Saturday. If a part is backordered, we contact you with a real date instead of letting the order sit silent.
